PSA Nitrogen Generator Carbon Molecular Sieve Filling Guide
The PSA nitrogen generator is a device that separates and produces high-purity nitrogen through physical principles. Its core component is the carbon molecular sieve.

As a black cylindrical solid, the carbon molecular sieve is easily eroded by water and oil stains. Even under normal usage, the carbon molecular sieve needs to be replaced within 6 to 10 years. To ensure the long-term efficient production of the nitrogen generator, the replacement of the carbon molecular sieve needs to be done based on the actual situation.
Replacing the carbon molecular sieve requires following certain filling steps:
1. Stop the supply of compressed air, wait for the pressure gauge of the nitrogen generator system to drop to zero, and then cut off the system power supply;
2. Remove the flange cover bolts on the adsorption tower.
3. Remove the carbon molecular sieve inside the adsorption tower; ensure there are no foreign objects in the tower.
4. Fill the molecular sieve to the specified height and use a vibration rod or vibration platform to compact the molecular sieve.
5. Check if the screen and felt pad inside the packing tower are damaged;
6. Install the coconut pad, upper分流 plate, spring, and upper flange cover in sequence, and tighten the bolts.
7. Conduct a gas tight test to prevent leakage at the flange.
It is worth noting that when filling the carbon molecular sieves, the filling environment of the molecular sieves should also be considered. It is recommended to carry out the filling work under the following conditions:
1. The humidity of the filling environment for the molecular sieves should be less than 60%. Construction can only proceed after confirmation.
2. The opened molecular sieves should not be exposed to the air for a long time; use them immediately upon opening.
3. During the filling process of the molecular sieves, use more than 95% nitrogen or argon for purging and protection inside the adsorption tank.
4. The filling area should be kept clean and tidy; there should be no debris on the ground.
5. 5. During filling, no debris is allowed to be mixed in.
6. The filling personnel need to take dust protection measures.

Standard filling operations can ensure personal safety and property security, extend the service life of mechanical equipment, and reduce the maintenance and replacement costs of the equipment; while a good filling environment can ensure the service life and production efficiency of carbon molecular sieves; the two complement each other and neither can be lacking.
